Drop files from the Finder straight onto the terminal. Local sessions insert the files’ paths; SSH sessions upload the files to the directory your shell is in.
scp over the session’s own connection, into the session’s current directory. A toast at the top of the terminal shows progress and the destination. To upload into a specific folder regardless of where the shell is, drop onto the file browser instead — it uploads into the folder it is listing.
Local sessions track the shell’s directory automatically. Remote hosts have to report theirs — that’s what shell integration is for. Without it, OliTerm falls back to reading the window title, and if that fails too, an upload asks what to do:
“Remote directory unknown — upload to home folder?” offers Upload to Home Folder, Install Shell Integration…, or Cancel.
~/.zshrc and ~/.bashrc on the host. Press ↩ to run it — it prints “OliTerm shell integration installed. Run: exec $SHELL”.exec $SHELL to activate it in the current session. The snippet makes the shell announce its directory on every
cd. From then on, uploads land in the right folder and the file
browser follows the session on that host. Installing is safe to repeat — the
marker keeps it from being added twice.
