Snippets
Snippets are stored commands — the ones you research once and
need again months later. They live in the sidebar’s Snippets
tab (⌘2).
Adding a snippet
- Click + at the bottom of the Snippets tab, or choose Shell > New Snippet….
- Enter a Title (for example “Restart mDNSResponder”), the Command, and optional Notes.
- Click Add Snippet.
The AI assistant’s
Save as Snippet… button opens this same editor with the
suggested command already filled in.
Using a snippet
Double-click a snippet, or right-click and choose
Insert in Terminal. OliTerm types the command into the
terminal and stops there — the cursor waits at the end of the line.
Note
Snippets are never executed automatically. Review the command, edit it if
needed, and press ↩ yourself. Running things stays a human decision
throughout OliTerm — the same rule applies to AI suggestions and inserted file
paths.
Copy Command in the context menu puts the command on the
clipboard instead.
Editing and deleting
Right-click a snippet for Edit… and Delete.
Warning
Delete removes the snippet immediately — there is no confirmation and no undo.
