Host info at a glance
Click the speedometer button in the toolbar for a live status popover about the current tab’s machine — your Mac in a local tab, the remote host in an SSH tab.
What it shows
| Row | Meaning |
|---|---|
| OS | Operating system and version |
| Updates | Pending software updates — “Up to date” or “N available”. Macs use the system’s cached Software Update count; Debian-family Linux asks apt. |
| Uptime | Time since the last boot |
| Disk | Free space on the system volume, with a usage bar |
| Memory | Used vs. installed memory, with a usage bar |
| CPU | Current CPU load — a real measurement taken over about a second, not a stale average |
| Network | Active interfaces with their addresses (up to 6 shown; virtual interfaces without real addresses are filtered out) |
The values refresh every 5 seconds while the popover is open; the updates check runs once when it opens. On SSH hosts the readings travel over the session’s own connection — nothing extra to set up, and it works on password-authenticated hosts too.
