The sidebar
The sidebar holds your two libraries — Hosts and Snippets. A segmented switcher at the top gives the selected library the full sidebar height.
Showing and hiding
- Click the Hosts & Snippets button in the toolbar, or choose View > Toggle Sidebar (⌃⌘S).
- The sidebar can also be collapsed by dragging its edge. Any of ⌘1, ⌘2, or ⇧⌘F reveals it again.
Switching libraries
View > Hosts (⌘1) and View > Snippets (⌘2) switch the sidebar between the two libraries — or click the segments directly. Switching clears the filter.
The bottom bar
- The + button is a menu: New Host…, New Group…, or New Snippet…. It is the same menu on either tab, and it switches to the library the new entry belongs in.
- The Filter field live-filters the active list. Hosts match by name,
user@hostdestination, group, or notes; snippets by title, command, or notes.
Filtering with the keyboard
- Press ⇧⌘F (View > Filter Sidebar) to focus the filter field — this also reveals the sidebar if it’s hidden.
- Type a few characters.
- Press ↩ to act on the first match: a host connects in a new tab, a snippet is typed into the terminal. Esc clears the filter instead.
Host groups
Hosts can be sorted into groups: the Hosts tab then shows one collapsible section per group, with hosts that have no group under Ungrouped. Click a header to collapse or expand its section — OliTerm remembers the collapsed sections in every window and across launches. Right-click a header to add, rename or delete groups, and drag hosts between sections to move them; see Hosts.
The Recent group
Once a library grows beyond five entries, a Recent group appears at the top — above the full list, or above the host groups — showing the five entries you used last. Entries appear in both places; while you’re filtering, the list is flat.
